Two civilians were killed in an airstrike carried out by the military junta in Kawkareik Township, Dooplaya District—an area under the control of the Karen National Union (KNU).
According to a Friday report from the KNU Dooplaya District, a military jet dropped bombs on Ta Ba Lu Kho Khee Village around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, despite there being no active conflict in the area at the time.
Two men, aged 36 and 30, were critically injured by shrapnel and later died from their wounds.
The airstrike also destroyed a house and a warehouse in the village.
The KNU report accused the junta of intentionally targeting civilian infrastructure, including religious buildings, schools, public hospitals and clinics, and residential areas.
