A military junta airstrike dropped at least eight bombs on western Demoso in Karenni State, injuring a displaced woman, according to local sources.
On March 4, around noon, junta forces carried out an airstrike near the Daw Rout Khu junction in the western part of Demoso Township, according to a local resident.
“The plane first dropped two bombs on a hill. A displaced woman, who was sleeping at the time, was struck in the thigh by shrapnel. Fortunately, her injuries are not life-threatening,” the resident told MPA.
“Then, two more bombs were dropped near a KTV shop close to Cherry Hill, followed by two more on a hill in front of the IDP camp. We also heard the sound of two additional bombs, but we don’t know where they landed.”
The extent of property damage from the airstrikes remains unclear.
In the aftermath, some residents have temporarily relocated to what they perceive as safer areas or sought shelter with relatives.
