A military junta airstrike targeted a wedding ceremony at the Kyauk Khwet oil field in Myaing Township, Magway Region, dropping 500-pound bombs and killing at least 10 people.
The airstrike struck a wedding ceremony at a monastery in the Kyauk Hwet oil field around 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, according to a report by the Myaing People’s Defense Team.
A Myaing People’s Defense Team officer told MPA, “The junta aircraft dropped two bombs, resulting in significant casualties, with over 10 people killed.”
Reports indicate that the injured are currently receiving medical treatment.
Residents from nearby areas fled following the attack.
