Local People’s Defense Forces (LPDF) launched a raid on a junta-run police station in Lin Zin Village, Salin Township, Magway Region, reportedly killing five junta troops, according to Minbu District Battalion 5.
The attack targeted the police station in Lin Zin Rural Zone, Salin Township, at around 6:30 a.m. on Monday and lasted nearly two hours.
An official from Minbu District Battalion 5 told MPA, “We managed to breach the station, setting fire to and destroying nearby buildings. About three bunkers were hit with RPGs. After two hours of fighting, a jet fighter and a reconnaissance aircraft arrived, dropping bombs and firing rockets, forcing us to retreat.”
Just as the station was on the verge of being captured, air support and ground reinforcements from the Kan Pyar police station in Salin Township arrived. Despite the retreat, revolutionary forces sustained no casualties.
“We saw about five of them fall. Some soldiers in the trenches were pulling away the wounded while returning fire,” the official added.
The attack was a coordinated operation involving Daung Sit Aung (LPDF), Battalions 1 and 5 of Minbu District, Salin Township People’s Defense Team, Minbu District Armed Force, SLN (PDF), Daung Brothers Group, the Burmese Army, and the Magway Region Drone Force.
MPA could not independently verify the number of junta casualties.
