Six junta soldiers, including a captain, were killed instantly when resistance forces launched a short-range missile attack on the North Eastern Command (Na Ma Kha) of Myanmar’s military junta in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region.
The Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM) announced on Wednesday that they fired four 107-mm short-range missiles at the North Eastern Command (Na Ma Kha) of the military junta in Monywa City at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
One of the missiles struck and destroyed the residence of the vice-regional commander.
A BWM official told MPA, “Preliminary investigations indicate that three junta soldiers, including a sergeant, were injured and transported to an emergency ward for treatment.”
He added that further details about the attack and its damages are still under investigation.
The BWM identified Na Ma Kha as a key command center responsible for directing the junta’s military operations across Sagaing Region, northern Magway Region, and Chin State. The center plays a significant role in coordinating attacks on civilians and suppressing resistance movements, the group stated.
This missile strike was the 30th mission carried out by the BWM. The operation was conducted in collaboration with other resistance groups, including Shadow (Monywa), Anonymous Heroes, Chindwin Fighters, Bo Mustache of Daung Generation, and Democratic Rangers.
The group emphasized that the attack targeted Na Ma Kha due to its critical role in orchestrating military operations against both civilians and resistance forces in the region.
As of now, MPA has not been able to independently verify the reported casualties or the extent of the damages caused by the strike.
