People Defense Team – Sagaing Region (Pa Ka Pha-Sagaing Region) issued a statement today, 9 October 2024, announcing that heroin cups belonging to the State Administration Council (SAC) Army were seized during the battle for the capture of Pinlebu town in Sagaing Region.
The capture of Pinlebu town was the result of 53 days of fighting, and by 8 October, the town was completely under control. Clearance operations are still ongoing, according to the statement.
Additionally, the Pa Ka Pha-Sagaing reported that during the battle, those who surrendered were allowed to retreat to Wuntho town, and the detained prisoners were also kept under custody.
SAC Army reinforced its forces with 11 battalions, including a battalion from the Shan Nationalities Army (SNA), during the battle. Despite deploying over 130 aircrafts of various types and dropping more than 3,000 bombs, the town was successfully seized by the revolutionary forces.
Furthermore, during the battle, more than 400 weapons were seized from SAC Army. About 80 heroin cups were also confiscated from the police station.
