Reports indicate that the military council launched an aerial bombing on Hsipaw, Shan State, causing damage to several houses and the deaths of two residents.
On today’s date, August 27, between 1 AM and 1:30 AM, the military council’s Y-12 aircraft and jet fighter bombed nearly the whole town, according to a resident.
“Several houses were destroyed. At the moment, two men from Okekyin Ward were killed. Due to the artillery shelling from Infantry Battalion 23 toward the town, no one dares not check on the casualties. An artillery shell landed an IDP camp in the West with no civilian casualties, but damage to the church,” the source explained to MPA.
Reportedly, clashes continued in Hsipaw between TNLA joined forces and junta troops with the sounds of guns fired as of 10 AM today.
An artillery shell fired from Infantry Battalion 23 landed over the IDP Camp within a church compound located in the Western Hsipaw, resulting in the damage of a religious building.
Additionally, on August 26, between 4 AM and 5 AM, the aerial attack on Narhkaw Village in Hsipaw Township killed a child.
TNLA and joined forces have successfully taken control of downtown Hsipaw.
