It is reported that the People Defense Force (PDF) raided the Thagyitaung police outpost, Pakokku township, Magway region, and 5 police officers including the station officer died and 2 surrendered during the raid.
According to the People Defense Team – Pauk township (Pa Ka Pha – Pauk), PDF raided the Thagyitaung police outpost, which had approximately 50 policemen, between 4:00 AM and 11:00 AM on 20 August.
“There are only three types of police: territorial, combat battalion, and oil-field police. If we can cut that station off, it will be easier to commute between Pauk Township and Pakokku Township,” U Gyi, in charge of Pa Ka Pha – Pauk told MPA.
According to reports, a policeman was captured alive with his weapon during that battle.
“We directed our forces to hand over the captured police officers to us. We provided necessary medical treatment to two captured policemen, and we treated them under human rights,” he said.
Reports state that due to the fallback of the rest of the police force to the highest hill and the aerial support, PDF’s troops fell back.
“We successfully captured all of the bankers. We also seized the station. They have no way out, but we also can’t charge anymore. There is a cliff between us and the highest hill. This is where they fell back. We are also unable to fire Enaga (rifle grenade). We can’t get close to it, either. They seem like they will fight till they die. Their aircraft hovered 7 times and attacked twice,” he continued.
During that attack, 2 PDF soldiers got minor injuries and captured 2 G-3 guns, 4 BA-94 guns, 1 MA-13 gun, 1 anti-drone gun, over 1,000 ammunition, various mines, and more than 6,000,000 Myanmar Kyat in cash.
This attack was operated by Pa Ka Pha – Pauk, Pa Ka Pha -Myaing, FRF force, BGF force, no.1 Allied Pa Ka Pha battalion, and allied Kanma forces.
