PDF forces reportedly seized nine guns and captured seven prisoners of war (POW) during an attack on the Nganmyar Gyi Police Station in Ngazun Township, Mandalay Region.
On the morning of August 19, around 4 AM, local PDF joint forces launched an attack on the Ngan Myar Gyi Police Station which housed around 22 personnel. The attack lasted for about three hours during which the station was completely taken over, according to the Civilians Defense and Security Organization of Myaung (CDSOM).
“The battle lasted from 4 AM to 7 AM. We completely captured and destroyed the police station. No junta soldiers were killed, but the ones who escaped likely fled towards Sone Pyu Militia Village,” CDSOM leader Ko Nway Oo, told MPA.
After the station was captured, the military launched five airstrikes, but no PDF members were injured.
“After the battle, the airstrikes began. They attacked from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM, with both bombings and gunfire. Fortunately, none of our comrades were injured,” he added.
Following the successful capture and destruction of the police station, the PDF joint forces withdrew safely.
The attack was conducted by the collaboration of the Civilians Defense and Security Organization of Myaung (CDSOM), Mandalay District Battalion 5, Naung Yoe Group, Myingyan Heroes, Black Tiger, and the Ngan Nek Group (Ngazun People’s Defense Team).
