Five terrorist SAC camps in KNU brigade 3 area have been occupied and locals were killed in airstrikes of the terrorist SAC, KNU reports today.
The terrorist SAC’s camps – Kyaung Pyar Camp, Aung Laung Sein Camp, Kyun Pin Seik Camp, Kaw Pyin Camp and Kyaung Su Camp – were captured, written in the statement.
In the camp-capturing fight of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) brigade 3 and joint forces, there were casualties on both sides and one battalion commander of the terrorist SAC was killed.
In addition, the statement said that 4 members of the people’s militia were killed and the rest fled with no weapons; in the camp-capturing fight, 8 pieces of the terrorist SAC’s guns (types still being identified) and ammunitions were seized.
Currently, no list of casualties is known yet.
The five camps were simultaneously captured on July 2 at 4:45am by the KNLA and joint forces, and due to the terrorist SAC’s airstrikes while clearance operations were being conducted, they couldn’t be cleared out completely yet.
As the airstrikes intentionally targeted escaping locals, Saw Bi Chye and family, 4 in total, were killed on the spot.
In addition, Saw Doe Ga Ro (70) from Kyun Pin Seik village sustained bullet wounds on the left chest and thigh, and efforts are being made to confirm the rest.
It has been learnt that nearly all locals from the nearby villages are escaping to safety due to the camp-capturing clash.
Since the terrorist military keeps firing shells into villages till now and keeps sending in reinforcements, intense clashes will continue, the statement says.
Furthermore, terrorist SAC’s KhaMaYa – 439, KhaMaYa – 351, KhaLaYa – 60 and joint forces torched Law Mu Pae village in Kyaukgyi township administration area of Nyaung Lay Pin district and shot dead Saw Mar Nay Htoo, a Law Mu Pae villager, the statement said.
The 25-year-old Saw Mar Nay Htoo ran a motorbike repair shop and he was shot and killed by the terrorist SAC inside his own shop, KNU said.
On July 1 also, the terrorist SAC shot two Leinpinwea villagers Teetaw and his fellow for no reason; Teetaw and his fellow abandoned their bike and were able to escape.
On June 30 as well, the confrontation between the terrorist SAC and KNLA brigade (9) lasted for about 20 minutes and the terrorist SAC arbitrarily fired shells into the nearby villages, KNU stated.
On June 27, the terrorist SAC killed Naywepin villager Saw Mu Thar and planted three mines at where he was buried. Plus, one Naywepin villager went missing till today and hasn’t been found back. MPA cannot independently confirm these cases yet.
KNU has stated that all of these are lawless killings of the coup terrorist SAC military which keeps committing crimes on the public in various ways.
